Faith : Receive His Love

Faith is the complete trust and confidence in something that can't be seen or necessarily proved with hard evidence. I think it is so interesting how children naturally have so much faith or trust in things they have never seen before like the tooth fairy or Santa. However, as they mature, skepticism develops until eventually as adults they find it hard to even have faith in the postman. If you really think about it though, we all act on faith everyday.

Whenever you work toward a worthy goal, you exercise faith. You show your hope for something that you cannot yet see. A workman who travels to work by train acts on faith everyday as he waits for his train to come at 7:30 am each day. A farmer acts on faith each time he plants a seed in the ground and waters it. His hope is that it will one day sprout into a great harvest.

The reality is that we will always need faith to get us through life. When it comes to following Jesus Christ it requires even more trust and faith, because we haven't seen him for ourselves or witnessed the miraculous events that occurred in his life. However it only begins with faith. We CAN come to a sure knowledge that he truly is the son of God, if we are willing to plant a seed of faith or desire in our hearts and experiment upon this until we see the results (a beautiful tree).

In Alma 32: 26-27 " 26 Now, as I said concerning faith that it was not a perfect knowledge even so it is with my words. Ye cannot know of their surety at first, unto perfection, any more than faith is a perfect knowledge. But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words."

So how do we experiment? Well, it begins with learning about Him and then acting upon His teachings. In a way we test His philosophies to see if they are indeed valid. I have now had many personal evidences that Jesus Christ is the Son of God as I have experimented upon his words. It has brought me so much peace and joy. I know that as we patiently allow that seed of faith to grow in our hearts we can each come to know for ourselves that God is there and loves each of us, and that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and the way in which we can all return to live with our Father in Heaven again.

Receive His love Lyrics

Verse1
This is the time you’ve been waiting for,
Where truth has found you at last
It will take you home and your Heavenly friend will lead you
Right down that path

Pre-CHORUS
Put your trust in him he will
Guide you there

CHORUS
Just take a leap and dive in
Allow your faith to take the lead
Don’t let doubts hold you back
From all our Savior has to give
If your heart is turned to him
Receive his Love

Verse2
Now you’ve arrived, take a look around
And see how far you’ve come
Your heart was open and your spirit was healed by
The warmth of the Son

Pre-CHORUS

CHORUS

Bridge
Love, he’ll open up your eyes
With his love
He’ll come and lift you up
