Heavens Have Opened Up

A few weeks ago I had a discussion with a close friend of mine about how we both came to know for ourselves the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon. We both came from different backgrounds; I grew up in the Church and she only recently came to know of this three years ago, and yet we both have experienced the same divine power of God touching our hearts to reveal truth to us. 
It really is such a gift to have a personal testimony. A testimony is the assurance of the reality, truth, and goodness of God through personal confirmation by the Holy Ghost. 
In James 1:5 it reads "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." What an incredible promise from our Heavenly Father, that we can receive wisdom directly from him.

After describing our experiences, my friend and I came to the conclusion that the spirit feels like a whole lot of love that cant fit into your heart and causes it to beat really fast, gives us goosebumps and sometimes overwhelms us so much that it makes you cry. It is something that is individual to each of us. But when that moment happens, where God opens the heavens up to us and communicates to us through the spirit, we can't deny it. We just know.
